Chicago Fire fans have one thing on their mind for the season 10 finale: Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) getting married. The couple’s union has been teased for over a year, and we’re all curious as to whether things will go according to plan.

Of course, as most Fire fans know, things rarely go according to plan. There’s been talks about the drama that will occur at the wedding, which we’ve already gotten to see photos of, but the writers and cast have been ambiguous when it comes to the outcome.

Find out what star Miranda Rae Mayo has to say about Stellaride’s future.

Will Severide and Kidd get married on Chicago Fire?

During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Mayo talked about her character’s arc, and how her desire to get married has changed drastically from when the idea was first introduced.

"“I think what’s really fun is that Kidd the whole time was like, ‘I don’t need a ring. I don’t need a wedding’,” the actress noted. “And then, as we see our couple get closer and closer to the moment, she becomes more and more invested in an actual wedding…. It’s hysterical.”"

While Kidd’s desire to get married has increased, there’s still plenty of issues that need to be resolved between her and Severide. The couple have been at each other’s throats throughout season 10, largely due to their inability to see eye-to-eye in the workplace.

There will also be little details that spook Kidd come the day of the wedding. According to Mayo, the rainy weather will definitely be in the back of her character’s mind before she exchanges “I do’s”. She also confirmed a fear that most fans have been harboring since the mid-point of the season.

"“Kidd is very superstitious”, she affirmed. “We may or may not be getting married.”"

There’s multiple ways that Kidd’s uncertainty can play out. Either she and Severide decide to split up, they decide to hold off on their wedding and merely stay engaged, or, of course, they just get married and the season ends on a dizzying high note.

It’s tough to gauge what would be best for the characters at this point in time. Fans have waited a long time to see the couple tie the knot, but the writers have made it abundantly clear that they still have some things to work out before they can function in a completely healthy relationship.
