New NBC Chicago Med cast posting suggests Spoiler will return for season 8

Following the conclusion of season 7, there have been a lot of questions regarding which Chicago Med cast members will return and whether we could be forced to say goodbye to any characters. And understandably so.

The season 7 finale left the fate of several characters up in the air which is always a natural cause for concern. After all, storylines such as these are often used to help allow for an actor to leave a series should they choose not to ink new deals — something we saw just last season with the departures of Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto.

Will and Dylan both found themselves in a precarious situation having last been seen trapped in the apartment fire, while Pamela’s future seemed uncertain following a surgery that could keep her out of the operating room indefinitely.

Although it was Will and Dylan who found themselves in the direst of situations, it’s Pamela’s future fans have been most fearful of for one major reason. While things weren’t looking good for Will and Dylan as the season came to a close, the assumption has been that both will survive given Nick Gehlfuss and Guy Lockard’s status as series regulars on the show and there have been no reports of either exiting the series.

Rafferty, however, joined the cast in a recurring role meaning her future with the show isn’t quite as clear. So when her character’s future was called into question in the season 7 finale fans began to question whether she might be leaving the series.

There is still a chance Pamela could leave Med behind her, but a new Chicago Med casting update from NBC seems to suggest we haven’t seen the last of Rafferty or her scene-stealing character.

Will Sarah Rafferty return as part of the Chicago Med cast in season 8?

Although the season 7 finale hinted at Pamela possibly leaving the series, it looks as though she’ll be back in action next season — at least that’s what a new NBC cast breakdown seems to suggest.

In a newly released Chicago Med cast breakdown on the NBC Insider vertical, the outlet reviews the current cast of the series in an in-depth piece that explores the show’s key players. Among those included in the cast roundup is Sarah Rafferty as Pamela Blake, with the piece highlighting her role on the show and briefly recapping the events of the season 7 finale.

The fact that the cast roundup was pushed out after the season 7 finale seems to hint that Rafferty won’t be departing the cast and will be returning for season 8.

While her contract status remains unclear, Rafferty was a standout in season 7 and fans are eager to see what’s to come for the character. There definitely is a lot still to unpack and it would be a shame not to get to see the fallout of her surgery and Crockett’s decision that could jeopardize her future as a surgeon.

Fortunately, it’s looking likely that Rafferty will return for season 8 in some capacity!
