Anne Heche is best known to One Chicago fans as originating the role of Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan on Chicago PD. Heche’s first appearance came in the season 6 premiere, “New Normal,” marking what would become an 11-episode guest arc.

The role is one of many Heche has played over her decades-long career, whose first role in the industry came in 1984 when she took on the role of Vicky Hudson in the daytime drama Another World. In fact, she’s credited for appearing in nearly 100 films, shorts and television series across her career which netted her a handful of awards over the years and made her a household name.

Although Anne Heche never took home a Primetime Emmy Award — coming close in 2004 when nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her role in Gracie’s Choice — she is an Emmy winner. Heche took home the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series back in 1991 for her work in Another World. 

While Heche’s win in 1991 netted her her only Emmy, she did take home a number of awards over the years including a GLAAD Media Award and pair of Soap Opera Digest Awards.

Anne Heche is a mother of two sons, Atlas (13) and Homer (20). Homer is the son Heche shares with ex-husband Coleman Laffoon, a cameraman she met while working on Ellen DeGeneres’s comedy tour. Her second son, Atlas, is shared with her second ex-husband, actor James Tupper, who she met in 2006 on the set of Men in Trees.
