On Aug. 12, the One Chicago franchise lost a beloved member of its family with the passing of actress Anne Heche at the age of 53. As confirmed by the late actress’s family, the former Chicago PD actress passed away one week after being hospitalized following an automotive accident.
Over her decades-long career, Heche starred in a number of titles including her Daytime Emmy-winning role in Another World, and many appearances on the big screen in films such as Six Days Seven Nights, Donnie Brasco, Wag the Dog and Volcano. Of course, to fans of the One Chicago franchise, Heche is best known for her role in Chicago PD.
Appearing in 11 episodes across seasons 6 and 7, Heche played Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan, who worked closely with Voight and the Intelligence Unit. She last appeared in the season 7 premiere when her character was written off as part of a storyline that saw her arrested for murder in an unexpected turn for the character.
Jon Seda reacts to passing of Chicago PD costar Anne Heche
Upon hearing the news of Anne Heche’s death, Chicago PD alum Jon Seda took to social media to honor his former co-star with a touching and emotional message celebrating the life of his late co-star.
“This is so sad. I was fortunate to work with her briefly on Chicago PD. She truly elevated the show. A joy to be around on and off screen. May she RIP,” Seda wrote.
Seda’s touching tribute was one of the many which have been pouring in from Heche’s fans and former costars following news of her death.
