The opening hour of the season delivered three shocking exits including one surprising death, welcomed a new doctor to the hospital’s ranks and ended with a jaw-dropping return that has kept fans buzzing ever since the premiere ended.

In the second episode of Chicago Med, it seems the doctors are about to face a wave of new obstacles including supply shortages and a cocky new resident who is about to clash with his superiors.

Here’s how NBC officially describes season 8 episode 2:

"Supply chain disruptions dramatically impact Med causing Crockett and Kai, a new surgical resident, to clash with other doctors. Maggie reveals something to Ben. Ethan and Archer help a patient with ALS."
