Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) has had a difficult time on Chicago Fire. Not professionally. The character has actually thrived in the workplace, and been welcomed as a member of the “old guard” by mentors like Casey (Jesse Spencer).

Personally, though, Gallo has struggled to balance his feelings for Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and his desire to make sure that she’s happy. He’s been a good friend to her, but it’s clear that he still likes her romantically.

Well, Gallo has started the process of moving on.

Who is Gallo dating on Chicago Fire?

Fire showrunners Derek Haas and Andrea Newman told TV Line that the character will continue to harbor some feelings for Violet, but that he will do his best to put it behind by “having a hell of a lot of fun.”

"“He’s the best guy in the world because he genuinely loves Violet, and so he genuinely wants the best for her and had to do that” Newman explained. “I think once he did that, he blocked it off. No matter his feelings, he locked that part off in his head for Violet, and he’s going to move forward.”"

Haas then dropped the crucial reveal by saying that Gallo “won’t be alone” for very long. It’s an encouraging character arc, and one we already started to see play out in episode 2, “Every Scar Tells a Story.”

It’s clear he’s turned to random hookups as a romantic distraction, and while that could lead to some interesting stories, the comments of the showrunners lead us to believe that he will be getting into something serious sooner than later.
