Jesse Lee Soffer posts heartwarming pics from Chicago PD set
Jay Halstead may be gone, but Jesse Lee Soffer is here to warm the hearts of Chicago PD fans. The actor has put on his directing cap in recent weeks, and hasn’t been shy about posting photos from the set.
Some of these photos are standard directorial stuff, but others are heartwarming reminders that Soffer will always be part of the One Chicago family. Here’s a rundown of Soffer’s IG posts and the response they’ve gotten from his former cast members.
When will Jesse Lee Soffer return to Chicago PD?
On February 5, Soffer announced his PD return in style with the caption: “Back at it. Just different.” It was a great reintroduction to his role within the show, and it showcased photos of him directing people like Jason Beghe (Voight) and LaRoyce Hawkins (Atwater).
The actor, who is slated to direct season 10, episode 16, posted another crop of photos on February 6. This time, Soffer can be seen posing alongside PD producer Brian Luce. “This guy” reads the caption, in reference to Luce. The second photo shows Soffer at work in Luce’s office, with a bunch of drawings of the cast behind him.
This photo was probably the one that hit most PD fans in the feels. Not only do we get to see an actor whose character is MIA indefinitely (Halstead), but we see him in front of characters that we also had to say goodbye to in the past, like Olinksy (Elias Koteas). It’s a nice reminder that things change, but the IU remains.
It’s been strange to watch the close relationship between Soffer and the rest of the PD cast unfold despite the fact that the character he plays is on the outs with the IU. Several people left remarks and comments about the possibility of Halstead coming back, but it remains unclear as to whether we’ll ever see him again.
