3 One Chicago couples we hope stay together in 2023

One Chicago is a pro when it comes to bringing characters together and tearing them apart. There have been countless romances over the years, and while some of them have gone the distance, others have broken up due to long distance, difference of opinion, or death.

It’s tough not to be worried about the current slate of romances that are on Chicago Med, Fire, and PD because of this track record. Still, us hopeless romantics can keep our fingers crossed and keep optimistic that the couples mentioned below manage to make it through the 2023 season.

Here are the couples we most want to see go the distance.

Are Upton and Halstead still together on Chicago PD?

Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) are going through some rough times on PD. It’s mainly due to the latter, as he’s decided to high tail it out of the Windy City and dedicate his time to fighting cartels in Central America. To make matters worse, he extended his stay without even telling Upton about it.

This one seems like it’s headed for divorce, which is devastating because Upton and Halstead just got married last season. We are holding out hope that Halstead is able to patch things up and keep the marriage going, but all signs seem to point to the opposite.

Are Maggie and Ben still together on Chicago Med?

This one was heartbreaking to witness. Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) decided to reconnect with an old flame, and the decision came back to haunt her when her husband Ben Charles Malik Whitfield) found out. He was understandably angered by what he found out, and made it clear that he wanted space from Maggie.

That said, the jury is still out on whether Maggie and Ben are headed for divorce. We’re hoping that Ben is able to forgive Maggie’s questionable decisions and patch things up, especially as Med show heads into the home stretch of season 8.

Are Severide and Kidd still together on Chicago Fire?

Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) are going through a rough patch on Fire. There’s no two ways about it. Their disagreement over the handling of a work situation led Kidd to suggest that maybe they shouldn’t work together anymore.

This loaded comment is made all the more complicated by the fact that they are recently married, and Severide is reportedly going to be missing several upcoming episodes. Will his absence help to mend their marital problems or make them worse? We really hope its the former.
