Former Chicago Fire star Jon Ecker and his wife actress Laura James have announced they’re expecting their first child together. Ecker, who wed James in October 2022, recently took to Instagram to share their exciting news with his followers in a sweet Instagram post sharing his excitement about the new chapter about to begin.

"“In this big book of life, this has to be one of the most exciting…and scariest chapters,” Ecker wrote in sharing the news. “Gonna have to start spending less on sandpaper and more on diapers. Not sure how [Laura James] does it but just four months to go.”"

In the sweet post, Ecker shared a pair of stunning shots of his expecting wife, which appear to have been snapped on the couple’s ranch, cradling her growing baby bump. Ecker also offered his follower a glimpse at their little one with the final photo in the post being that of the baby’s sonogram.

While the couple’s due date is unclear, the post hints that James is five months along which would mean the couple’s little one should arrive sometime this summer.
