Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) has some devastating things to confront next season. She’s not only having to deal with the shooting of Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) on Chicago PD, but the shooting and even worse condition of her husband, Mouch (Christian Stolte), on Chicago Fire. We know she’s tough, but that’s a lot for any person.

Given the proximity that Platt has to both of these characters, it should come as no surprise that she is definitely coming back for season 11 of Chicago PD. She was present during the closing moments of last season, and will undoubtedly be present during the premiere.

Is Trudy Platt leaving Chicago PD season 11?

Amy Morton, who has been part of the PD cast from its inception, recently talked about the actors strike, and how she is extremely fortunate to have a role as long-running and popular as Platt. “Without [Chicago PD], I’d be trying to book guest star roles on things, and that’s hit and miss, let me tell you,” she told the Chicago Tribune. “As an actor, you’re lucky if you get two guest spots a year. Maybe you get really lucky and your agent negotiates ‘top-of-show’ billing for you.”

Morton went on to discuss how Chicago PD is a rarity within the industry, and how some of her friends have struggled to pay the bills. “That means a maximum of $10,000 — that’s the most anyone can get unless they’re a big star,” she added.

"“But that’s only for network shows. That’s an old model. I feel fortunate to have gotten in on the tail end of that.. I’m one of the lucky ones; I’ll be able to get through the strike. But most of my friends are screwed. And if I didn’t have Chicago PD, I’d be, too.”"

Given Morton’s graciousness towards the show and its fans, it further confirms the fact that she will be back in action for season 11. Even if it will be a while before season 11 premieres on NBC.
