After weeks of talking about making a move to Texas to be with Christopher, Eddie finally made things official in the tenth episode of 911 season 8. With Buck agreeing to lease his LA home, Eddie packed up his belongings, loaded up a U-Haul, and drove off into the sunset leaving LA, Buck, and the entire 118 family behind.
While Ryan Guzman is set to remain a part of the show’s cast in the upcoming episodes, fans shouldn’t be expecting to see Eddie back in LA anytime soon. Eddie has moved to Texas and he’s going to remain there for a decent amount of time as he works to repair his relationship with Christopher.
The good news is that we will get to see this journey for Eddie and Christopher unfold on the show and, as Eddie reminded Buck before he left, Eddie is going to keep in touch with Buck via FaceTime but he’s left the 118. This has left the team down one man and it seems Eddie’s departure has opened the door for another fan-favorite character to make his return to the 118 after taking an extended break from the show.

Anirudh Pisharody returns as Ravi on 911
With Eddie no longer working at the 118, it seems that they’ll be filling his spot with a familiar face as Anirudh Pisharody makes his way back to 911 to reprise his role as Ravi Panikkar. Ravi’s return was first confirmed in photos for the eleventh episode of season 8, “Holy Mother of God,” in which he’s seen back in action alongside Buck, Hen, Chimney, and Bobby.
After debuting in the show’s fourth season, Ravi became a recurring character on the show most recently returning to the show in the final episodes of season 7. It was expected that we might see Ravi back when season 8 returned; however, that proved not to be the case as Ravi has been MIA since 911 returned.
Thankfully, it seems that Ravi will be sticking around for a stretch of episodes now that Eddie has moved to Texas leaving the 118 in need of an extra set of hands. And honesty, we couldn’t think of anyone better for the job! Since we first met Ravi in season 4, he’s been a criminally underutilized character and we were starting to worry that he might not be back in season 8.
While we hate to see Eddie go, having a familiar and beloved character such as Ravi come back to fill his vacancy at the firehouse is a perfect move and one that lessens the blow of losing Eddie. Ravi always brings such a fun energy to the ensemble and we can only hope that perhaps this latest stint with the show might lead to him sticking around for the long haul and becoming a more permanent fixture on the show again!
