From the moment we watched the Chicago Fire season 14 finale serve up a mega cliffhanger that left the lives of nearly the entire Firehouse 51 team's lives on the line, we were eager to get to season 15 as soon as possible for our burning questions to be answered.
In the final episode of season 14, the fearless team gathered together to fight a fire in a building that quickly posed a fatal threat and exploded with half of the team still inside. The others, who were running back to safety from the roof, were also caught up in the shocking explosion.
Obviously, Chicago Fire fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation on which members of the team, and how many, could end up dying in the explosion. That's the scariest question on everyone's mind and one that dictates which other questions season 15 will have the chance to answer.
Chicago Fire season 15 has a lot of work to do right out of the gate! Heading into the new episodes this fall, we have at least three massive questions that have been keeping us up at night since the season 14 finale, including the obvious but overwhelming: Who won't survive?

Will anyone die in the Chicago Fire season 15 premiere?
After that jaw-dropping moment that ended season 14, it's otherwise certain that someone won't be making it out of that fire alive. We already know that both Severide and Kidd will survive the explosion since Taylor Kinney and Miranda Rae Mayo have solidified new deals for season 15.
But what about the rest of the team? Well, there are three others who are confirmed safe because they are on the ground: Pascal, Violet, and Novak. But literally everyone else in Firehouse 51 is in harm's way, especially those who became trapped inside the building.
The Chicago Fire season 14 finale laid on the possibility of a major character death pretty thick with the buildup toward the big event. Each character had something significant happening in their lives, whether it was Mouch's book, Herrmann renewing his vows, or Stellaride possibly adopting Isaiah.
No matter which character loses their lives in the explosion (again, if anyone), it will hit us pretty hard. For the most part, fans have been the most worried about Herrmann, Mouch, and Cruz, the latter of whom is expecting another child. We want the whole team to survive, but that might not happen.

Are Severide and Kidd going to adopt Isaiah?
Speaking of the high stakes that were introduced for Severide and Kidd before the dangerous call potentially changed the trajectory of their lives, Isaiah unexpectedly came back into their lives and had the couple mulling over possible career and lifestyle shifts.
As it turns out, Isaiah was no longer happy living in Cleveland and wished to return to Severide and Kidd's care in Chicago. Stellaride is open to taking him back in, but they want to make the decision with his mother, since Isaiah went behind her back when he returned to Chicago.
Before the explosion, Severide and Kidd were seriously considering what their lives would look like if Isaiah returned to live with them full time. That included Severide thinking about accepting the position with the fire investigation team, which would keep him safely out of the field.
Severide and Kidd are basically marked safe from falling victim to the explosion, so the biggest question surrounding the couple's future revolves around Isaiah. Will they formally adopt him as their son, or will they officially foster him full-time? That's what we're dying to know!

Is Vasquez trading firefighting for policing?
While you might have other pressing questions for Chicago Fire season 15, the third biggest question going into the new episodes has to be about Vasquez's future at Firehouse 51. How could we NOT be worried that Vasquez will up and leave his team to follow his dream of becoming a cop?!
From the second Vasquez joined the team in season 14, he was something of an outsider, which was mostly due to him making a chaotic first impression and not really being interested in making friends. He was trapped under his dad's thumb, after all, but that didn't stop him from feeling a pull.
Chicago Fire had Vasquez wrapped up in a love triangle with Violet and Novak, but he was also pulled toward his original goal of wanting to be a police officer. This became a serious possibility about halfway into season 14 and again in the season finale.
Vasquez ran drills at the police academy and was a natural. Kidd pushed him to take the test and pursue his dream. He's been insistent about forging his own path as a firefighter, but will he reconsider after a near death experience? Honestly, let's hope he doesn't leave the team.
