All summer long, Chicago Fire fans have been fearing the worst for their favorite characters after season 14 ended with one of the most shocking cliffhangers in the show’s history.
The writers crafted a masterful cliffhanger that has kept fans talking all summer long, speculating about who might live or die after nearly every member of Firehouse 51 ended the season in a precarious situation. Half of the firehouse was trapped in the building fire as mayday calls came through on the radio following a building explosion, while the other half were engulfed in flames from the explosion while fleeing the roof before it collapsed.
Thankfully, with season 15 entering production, we’ve gradually begun to learn the fates of several characters whose lives were on the line. Thus far, we’ve gotten confirmation that Kidd, Severide, Vasquez, Mouch, and Herrmann survive the events of the season 14 finale, as all five have been spotted on set filming beyond the season 15 premiere. Now, it seems we can add two more characters to the list of those who will make it out of the fire alive.
While there was a stretch of time this summer we feared the worst for Capp and Tony, it seems we can now confirm both longtime members of Squad 3 will survive!
Actors Randy Flagler and Anthony Ferraris have both been spotted on set filming the second episode of season 15, which confirms Capp and Tony won’t be going anywhere. The pair were photographed on set with fans, with each donning their Firehouse 51 uniforms, which indicates that they’re both on call and working at 51.
We had not seen Capp or Tony in earlier set photos, which made many worry about whether the beloved duo could be in jeopardy. Thankfully, it seems we can finally add them to the growing list of characters who are not in danger as we truly cannot imagine Chicago Fire without Capp and Tony.
With Capp and Tony now marked safe, our attention shifts heavily to Ballard and Cruz, who are the only two characters who were involved in the season finale cliffhanger whose fates remain uncertain. We’ve been getting mixed signals about Cruz, so there is a true 50/50 chance he could live or die. Meanwhile, Ballard’s fate is looking grimmer, as we’ve not seen Leroy S. Williams III in any set photos, and he’s also not posted any behind-the-scenes photos to indicate he’s filming season 15.
Thankfully, we’re getting closer and closer to Chicago Fire season 15’s October 7th premiere with each passing day, so it won’t be too much longer before we know the exact outcome of the season 14 finale and find out how season 15 begins.
