NCIS: Origins has not had a new episode since January, 2025, but there is good news for fans of the prequel spin-off in the NCIS franchise. Not only are we getting new episodes starting on Monday, March 24, but we also have an idea of what to expect with the season finale.
The last time we saw the young Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and crew, we learned more about Mike Franks and how his relationship with Tish both began and ended. Due to scheduling, new episodes were on hold until the end of March.
Fans will learn more about Gibbs

In the newest episode that will air on March 24, the team will be looking into the death of an investment advisor who had just left prison. Plus, it also looks like we will be learning more about Mary Jo when there’s something happening in her person life that she wasn’t expecting. Mary Jo essentially keeps NCIS running and we love learning more about the others on the team besides Gibbs.
The first season of the show has done a great job of introducing us to the new characters while following the beats of the plot we already know in terms of Gibbs’s life when he first became an agent. So when will we get more information on Gibbs? While there are still a handful of episodes left to get through until the finale, we do know the season finale will take us back to a familiar moment that shaped Gibbs’s life.
As for the season finale, that episode is coming much earlier than the season finale of NCIS, likely because it is two episodes shorter than the flagship series. Fans will be able to watch the season finale of NCIS: Origins on Monday, April 28 at 10/9c. So what is the synopsis for the finale?
From what we know so far, the episode is titled “Cecilia,” which is Lala Dominguez’s full first name and it will follow the resurgence of the Pedro Hernandez case. According to the synopsis, Pedro Hernandez’s murder is brought to the forefront and it looks like Gibbs will need support from his team.
The season finale will revisit a notable case

The Mexican authorities only knew Hernandez was missing, as the Reynosa cartel had covered up his murder until Lala found out when she and Gibbs went to Mexico on a case. But now it looks as though authorities have found out that he was murdered and of course, Gibbs is likely a suspect due to his wife and daughter being the victims.
In the synopsis, it only says one person’s loyalty is called into question. Since Lala is the one who knew about the murder with certainty (Franks pointedly told Gibbs not to discuss it with him so he could maintain deniability), then it would be more than likely it is her who will have to determine if she will talk or not.
Since we know Gibbs managed to avoid anyone discovering his secret, how will he get through this? The season finale is sure to leave us in for a ride and we’re looking forward to it, especially since we already know we’re getting a second season of NCIS: Origins.
