Chicago Fire, Med and PD are about to be pulled from NBC's schedule (and we now know when)

February is inching closer and the One Chicago shows will soon be pulled from the NBC's schedule.

Since returning on the first Wednesday of the new year following their extended winter breaks, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD have been airing new episodes weekly on Wednesdays without interruption. Sadly, that is soon about to change.

February is inching closer, and so are the 2026 Winter Olympics. The Milano Cortina Winter Olympics will officially kick off on February 6, and NBC remains the official broadcast home of coverage of the Olympic Games. This is exciting for those looking forward to watching the 2026 Winter Olympics, but it’s bad news for the One Chicago franchise and NBC’s primetime series.

In order to bring fans coverage of the Winter Olympics in the evening, NBC will be pulling its entire primetime lineup from the schedule. This includes Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD, which will remain off the air for nearly the entire month of February.

NBC’s primetime schedule for the weeks ahead reveals that we’ll get new episodes of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD through Wednesday, February 4 with the release of each show’s twelfth episode. The One Chicago shows will then be pulled from the schedule beginning on February 11, and will remain on break through Wednesday, March 4.

The good news is that once we get through this break, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD should continue their seasons with limited interruption through the rest of the season - though we’ll likely see a break or two at some point. The even better news is that when the One Chicago shows return on March 4, it’ll be for the annual One Chicago crossover event!

That’s right, the 2026 One Chicago crossover is slated to release on March 4, bringing the casts of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD together for a high-stakes event. This year’s crossover will begin with a missing passenger plane that leads to a bigger and deadlier mystery as the night goes on.

When the shows do return, fans will see a bit of a unique schedule as Chicago Fire and Chicago Med will be swapping time slots for the night. Chicago Fire will open the night at 8 p.m. ET, with Chicago Med then airing at 9 p.m. ET, and Chicago PD closing the night in its usual 10 p.m. ET spot.

Of course, if One Chicago fans find themselves missing Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD during the shows’ upcoming break during the Winter Olympics, they can always turn to Peacock to rewatch their favorite episodes. And the twelfth episodes of each show will surely leave fans with a lot to think about as the writers likely worked in some cliffhangers in anticipation of knowing there would be a break between episodes with the Winter Olympics coverage taking place.
