This fall, NBC will be celebrating a major moment in its history with its 100-year anniversary! What first started as a radio broadcast channel would eventually evolve into the broadcast channel that would become home to one of the most successful franchises around, the One Chicago universe. It seems only fitting that in celebrating its upcoming 100th season, NBC put the One Chicago shows front and center in its newest fall promo!
With the calendar turning to September, NBC unveiled its “Our Biggest Fall in 100 Years” spot to kick off the new season. The new promo features clips from its fall slate, including the scripted, unscripted, and sports programming that will make up its lineup beginning this September. While the promo features footage from the network’s various shows, it’s the One Chicago trio of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD that NBC puts the biggest focus on in the new spot.
The promo opens with a shot from the Chicago Med season 11 finale as Hannah holds her newly born daughter in her arms as Dean stands beside her. “Welcome to the world,” Hannah sweetly tells her daughter as the promo then rolls into a montage of clips.
“Our story as TV’s No. 1 network is one of a kind. 100 years in the making. Join us for our biggest fall in 100 years,” the promo notes as we see shots of various NBC shows with a heavy focus on the One Chicago shows. This montage includes shots of Imani in the car with her sister on the way to the hospital from the Chicago PD finale, the explosive ending of Chicago Fire in which Pascal, Violet, and Novak watched in horror as an explosion went off.
“You will always be home,” Herrmann is heard saying as the montage continues, the spot slicing in a clip from his and Cindy’s vow renewal from the finale. The promo continues with additional clips before coming to a close with a shot of Severide telling Kidd, “We’re in this together,” before the pair kiss as the promo comes to a close.

Although like the first official One Chicago promo for the new season, the new “Our Biggest Fall in 100 Years” spot does not include any new footage from the upcoming seasons of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD, it is amazing to see the three shows front and center in the promotional spot for the NBC 100 celebration!
It might seem like a small gesture, but NBC choosing to feature the One Chicago shows so heavily in the promo is quite exciting, as it reconfirms that the network continues to view the franchise’s shows as its marquee originals. We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but it definitely is a nice boost of confidence heading into a new season, as the seasons ahead aren’t likely to be the last for any of the One Chicago shows as NBC continues to recognize the value they bring to the NBC brand and the shows’ continued strength within its programming slate.
