There are plenty of reasons to watch Chicago Fire this fall, and its newest cast addition is becoming one of them for many. One Chicago Center was the first to report that Matthew Daddario will join the cast of Chicago Fire season 15 as a new firefighter candidate working on Truck 81.

While the extent of his involvement in the upcoming season remains unknown, what is clear is that Daddario’s addition to the Chicago Fire cast is giving fans reason to tune in. Since word of his casting broke, fans have been taking to social media to express their excitement about the new role on the show, which, for many, is giving them reason to check out the show for the first time.

"OK, that's good; I get it. I'm going to watch your series," wrote one excited fan willing to give Chicago Fire a try now that Daddario has joined the cast. Echoed another, "Matthew Daddario for the love of God don't make me watch 15 seasons of a firefighter series. I won't survive another 15-season series."

This was a sentiment shared by many fans who are eager to give the show a chance if it means getting to see Daddario on their screens.

Daddario fans who haven't tuned in to Chicago Fire in the past aren't the only ones getting a sudden urge to catch up. News of his casting has many fans who have fallen off from watching Chicago Fire feeling eager to catch up and give the show another chance now that he's joined the cast.

"THE SCREAM I JUST LET OUT—YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE I AM WITH MATTHEW DADDARIO," wrote one excited fan, who is thrilled to have Daddario back on their screens in a new role. This was a sentiment shared by many fans who are excited to have Daddario returning to television. The fact that he's set to play a firefighter certainly helps.

Needless to say, there is a lot of excitement for Daddario's addition to the cast. The only complaint fans have is that NBC didn't announce his casting earlier so that they had more time to catch up on the show before season 15 premieres on October 7. Others simply wished the news had come sooner than it had to help balance out some of the more disappointing updates we've been getting this season about cast shakeups.

"A ton of people in my timeline discovering Chicago Fire thanks to Matthew Daddario's addition. I mean, I wasn't expecting it, but fame is fame, I guess. WATCH HIM; YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!! But I warn you, there are 14 seasons to catch up on, and season 15 starts in October; you should hurry," wrote one fan on X.

We definitely share the fans’ excitement over Daddario’s casting and are hoping his role in the upcoming season will be for more than just an episode or two. Daddario was absolutely incredible in Shadowhunters, and we've been missing having him on our screens in a more regular capacity following his one-season run on Why Women Kill.

Daddario is an incredibly talented actor who brings a natural intensity and emotional depth to every role he takes on. He has a real ability to make even the most complicated characters feel authentic and compelling while injecting them with heart and humor. And yes, it also doesn't hurt that he's attractive and absolutely gives hot firefighter energy.

Hopefully, NBC sees the fan reception to Daddario's casting and will keep him around for the long haul, as we'd love to see him join Chicago Fire in a substantial role
