It seems Matthew Daddario won’t be the only high-profile guest star appearing in the opening hour of Chicago Fire season 15.
Station 19 star Carlos Miranda is set to appear in the season 15 premiere, marking his first role on a broadcast drama since the final season of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy spinoff. There are currently no details available regarding the role, but the Rotten Tomatoes cast listings for the episode have confirmed Miranda will be playing a character named Jacob Morales.
We know that the season 15 premiere will welcome an influx of probies to Firehouse 51, so there is a chance that Miranda would be playing a firefighter candidate in the premiere. It’s not been confirmed how many probies will be assigned to Firehouse 51, but we know from set photos that there will be a small handful of new additions, which includes new series regular Da’Vinchi and Daddario in a guest role.
It’s also possible that Miranda could pop up in connection to one of the incidents the team will be responding to during the premiere, or perhaps playing another firefighter whose path will cross with someone at 51. There are certainly a lot of possibilities, and with only the character’s name to go off of, it’s hard to know how Miranda will factor into the episode.
Hopefully, the premiere photos will give us a proper look at Miranda’s character, which will help to fill in some of the blanks to give fans a better idea of who he’ll be playing. Regardless, it’s certainly going to be exciting to see Miranda back on our screens.
Miranda is best known for playing firefighter Theo Ruiz in the final four seasons of Station 19, which came to a close in 2024 after seven seasons. Following his time on Station 19, Miranda has appeared in a handful of projects, including Netflix’s supernatural drama The Boroughs.
After the unexpected cancellation of The Boroughs, we’re definitely excited to see Miranda pop up on Chicago Fire, and we’d love to see this guest spot become more than just a one-off appearance. Despite being a late addition to the Station 19 ensemble, Miranda quickly became a fan-favorite among viewers. Station 19 fans have been hoping to see him back on their screens, and we’re sure they’ll be tuning into the premiere to see Miranda’s guest spot.
Hopefully, Miranda will be playing a more likable character rather than someone who finds themselves in opposition to someone at Firehouse 51. And if there is one thing we've learned over the years, it's that what may initially appear to be a guest spot can absolutely evolve into a bigger role on the show.
Just last season, Jeanine Mason joined the cast, and it was initially assumed that she was simply going to guest star. Instead, she'd end up playing a key role in the final episodes of season 14, appearing in seven episodes in the role of Lucy Zambetti before her departure in episode 20. Perhaps that will be the case for Miranda's character, and fans will get to see him appear in more than just one episode of Chicago Fire season 15.
