While there were some doubts cast about whether NBC would be staging a three-show One Chicago crossover event in 2027, it seems there was nothing to worry about after all.

NBC will be staging a One Chicago crossover event, which will bring Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD together for what promises to be another epic three-show crossover event! The crossover was confirmed via Chicago Fire insider Stellaride News, who revealed that work is currently underway on filming the annual crossover event, which was confirmed via an extra working on the episode.

Interestingly, the One Chicago crossover will be coming a bit earlier in the season than last year's Reckoning crossover. While the Reckoning crossover event unfolded across the thirteenth episode of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD's respective seasons, this year's One Chicago crossover will apparently unfold in the tenth episode of each show's current season.

With the crossover reportedly coming in the 10th episode of the season, this means that the One Chicago crossover event could be airing on NBC as early as late January. For context, the 2026 One Chicago crossover aired the first week of March following a break in the season for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Given the success of the Reckoning crossover, which pulled in season-best viewership ratings for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD, it's not at all surprising to know that NBC is proceeding with another three-show crossover event. Still, it's a relief to know that one is officially in the works, as the crossovers are always a highlight of the season and offer up some of the biggest moments of the season.

While the One Chicago shows stage mini crossovers throughout the season with characters from Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD popping up across their sister shows for guest spots, the annual One Chicago crossovers take things to a whole other level. The three-show crossovers bring the casts of the shows together for movie-sized events, with each crossover somehow managing to up the ante even more than the previous year's event.

Past crossover events have seen the first responders tackle infectious diseases and a catastrophic gas explosion. Last year's Reckoning crossover saw the teams face one of their biggest threats after a bioattack resulted in the deaths of dozens of individuals on a passenger plane.

It'll be interesting to see what the writers have cooked up for the next One Chicago crossover, and it's going to be exciting to see what new dynamics we might get to see explored in the three-show crossover event. There's also no telling what surprises could be awaiting us, as last year's crossover brought back a pair of familiar faces with the returns of Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos and featured the death of a beloved recurring character.

With the crossover coming in early 2027, we should begin to get more details about what the writers have in store for us in the weeks ahead. For now, we're just thrilled to know that a three-show crossover is indeed happening and are excited to see what the next One Chicago crossover event brings our way!
