Since Jessy Schram first appeared on Chicago Med as Dr. Hannah Asher, she has consistently been one of the show's best characters by far. While aspects of her character haven't worked, like her involvement with a character I hope never returns to the show, most fans can't get enough of Dr. Asher.
Since Dr. Asher is such a fantastic character, it made perfect sense when Chicago Med's season 10 ended with a cliffhanger focused on leaving fans wondering who would be named as the father of a baby she'd become pregnant with.
Like most fans, I was excited to learn the answer to that dangling question and I have been interested to learn things like why the show didn't depict Dr. Asher hooking up with Dr. Dean Archer. However, the first part of Chicago Med season 11 has left me worried about Dr. Asher's future as a character.

Dr. Hannah Asher seems to be at risk of becoming one-note
When I think of the history of Chicago Med, there have been very few characters that I believe have been as likable as Dr. Hannah Asher. As a result, when Dr. Asher learned that she was pregnant after it had previously become clear that she would like to become a mother, I was happy for the character. However, now that seven episodes of the show's eleventh season have aired, I am concerned about how the show will depict Dr. Asher in the future.
When many people learn they will be become a parent soon, they will spend a lot of time thinking about and preparing for that major life change. However, that doesn't mean that the person who is preparing to take care of a child solely becomes an expectant parent. Based on how Dr. Asher has been depicted during Chicago Med season 11 so far, I'm not sure that the show's writers realize that.
So far, it has felt like every one of Dr. Asher's storylines have revolved around the fact that she is pregnant. Even many of the patients that Dr. Asher has been shown treating have had storylines that reflect on the fact that she is carrying a baby.
Don't get me wrong, it would be weird if Dr. Asher's storylines ignored her pregnancy, considering viewers know she wanted to be a mother and the father of her baby is a co-worker. Still, I am really hoping that the show's writers will remember that there is more to Dr. Asher as a character. After all, Dr. Archer is going to have a new baby soon, but a potential new romance storyline has been introduced for him.
