1 Chicago Med Character I never want to see again

This Chicago Med character needs to disappear forever after previously appearing in many episodes.

In many ways, Chicago Med is on an incredible roll, as evidenced by the fact that there were many reasons why fans were very excited about its eleventh season. For example, the show has reached an incredible milestone, and it is set to bring Dr. Will Halstead back, which could inspire a fantastic storyline.

While there are many reasons for fans to celebrate how great Chicago Med has been lately, one of the biggest has to be the fact that the show currently features many characters that viewers care about. However, that doesn't mean that every character who has recently been a big part of the show has been great. Instead, there is one recent Chicago Med character who was so frustrating that I really hope they will never appear again.

Why Chicago Med's Elizabeth Asher should never appear on the show again

During the tenth episode of Chicago Med's 10th season, fans were introduced to Dr. Hannah Asher's sister, Elizabeth Asher. Portrayed by Erin Anderson, the actor who brought the character to life gave an excellent performance and deserves credit. Despite how much I respect Erin's performance, I never want to see the character she embodied appear on Chicago Med again.

Since Dr. Hannah Asher first appeared on Chicago Med, viewers have learned that the character is someone with a drug addiction whose struggles led her to make decisions that harmed important relationships in her life. After the character went through recovery and had been sober for a long time, Hannah decided to try to repair her relationship with her sister, Elizabeth.

After Hannah first reached out to her sister, the siblings' interactions followed an obvious and infuriating pattern. Whenever Elizabeth felt like Hannah could help her in her pursuit of becoming pregnant, she would be open to allowing her sister to be part of her life. However, as soon as Hannah told Elizabeth that she couldn't help, she would be cut off once again.

When Hannah refused to use her medical license to commit fraud so Elizabeth could get IVF, she was rejected. Similarly, when Hannah couldn't be a surrogate because she'd become pregnant herself, Elizabeth walked out on her. In both of those cases, Elizabeth seemingly didn't put any thought into how her behavior would affect her sister. The character didn't seem to care that she was asking her sister to jeopardize her career, or that she abandoned her newly pregnant sibling without knowing if she had any other support.

Anyone who has experienced the kind of pregnancy struggles that the character of Elizabeth went through knows how traumatic and painful that is. The level of grief and sorrow that can be inspired is hard to overstate. Still, that doesn't give a character the agency to completely mistreat someone else. After everything that the character of Elizabeth did on the show, I never want to see her again.
