Chicago Med season 11’s penultimate episode saw an influx of patients hitting the Gaffney ED after a fight between a young prisoner and a prison guard led to a prison riot. The prison riot paved the way for several fun guest spots from a few familiar faces viewers are likely to recognize from their roles in hit shows and movies.
Leading the guest cast was actor Brandon Jay McLauren, who is no stranger to the small screen, having appeared in several hit series through his career. McLauren portrayed Officer Jason Walker, the prison guard who was injured during the initial fight at the prison. We met Walker early in the episode, but he ended up taking more of a back seat as the episode went on, though we imagine we could be seeing more of him in the season finale.
While Walker claimed it was the young prisoner who started the fight, Frost’s gut told him that something was not right and perhaps the prisoner was not the instigator. If that storyline thread is continued in the finale, we imagine we’ll be seeing more of Walker when he’s confronted about his exact role in the fight that made way for the prison riot and set the stages for the Code Silver called at Gaffney after one prison stole a guard’s gun and was set loose on the hospital.
Fans will likely recognize McLauren from his recent turn as criminal Elijah Stone on The Rookie, thought that’s one of his many credits which also include playing Beau Buckley on Snowfall and Agent Dale Jakes on Graceland. McLauren’s other recent credits include roles in Turner & Hooch, The Cleaning Lady, Wayward, Ransom, and Firefly Lane.

Speaking of the prisoner who escaped and triggered the Code Silver, the role of Wyatt Dupree was played by actor Eric Ladin. Wyatt was brought into the ED with a leg injury and immediately sent up red flags as he seemed quite interested in another prisoner brouht in. When Lenox revealed he was set to be discharged, Wyatt complained that his foot was becoming numb which resulted in Lenox ordering an MRI to check for injurues.
When reviewing the scans, Lenox realixed that the injury suggested that Wyatt had stabbed himself. As she came to this realization, that's when she realized he had escaped and gotten away with one of the guard's guns. Ladin is set to play a key role in the season 11 finale with the episode set to focus on the efforts to find Wyatt before he harms anyone.
Ladiin is best known for playing Scott Anderson on Bosch and Bosch: Legacy. Fans might also recognize him from hits such as Ozark, For All Manking, Law & Order, 911, The Rookie: Feds, and NCIS: Hawaii.

Also guest starring in the episode was Mister Fitzgerald in the role of prisoner Isaac Singleton, who suffered a serious head injury in the midst of the riot. We learned early in the episode that Isaac was set to be transferred to a more lush prison. The details of the transfer were not fully explained but it seems that perhaps he traded information for a deal with the DA, as that would make sense as to why Wyatt seems to be gunning for him.
DC Comics fans will recognize Fitzgerald from his role on HBO Max's Emmy-winning drama The Penguin. His other credits include The Night Agent, Godfather of Harlem, and The Blacklist.
Rounding out the guest cast for the episode was Seth Carr, who hs made a career of playing young iterations of iconic characters. Carr played young Killmonger in Marvel's Black Panther and also played young Holt in multiple episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. On Chicago Med, he played Maxwell Hodges, the young prisoner who was brought in and suspected of starting the fight that sparked the prison riot.
