If you can believe it, we have already reached the part of the year where it's time for the broadcast shows to bid viewers a temporary farewell with their fall finales. How is it already time for the midseason break?! Time flies when you're enjoying your favorite shows, and that's particularly true for Chicago Med, which ends for the year this week with the season 11 fall finale.
Chicago Med season 11 episode 7 picks up after an emotional episode that saw the devastating loss of an original character that has been featured on the show season 1. While the character connected to that death likely won't be seen this week, the episode boasts a handful of guest stars.
Based on the photos from the episode that NBC release prior to the airing, most of the show's series regulars will appear in the episode: Oliver Platt as Dr. Charles, Steven Weber as Dr. Archer, Jessy Schram as Dr. Asher, Luke Mitchell as Dr. Ripley, Sarah Ramos as Dr. Lenox, and Darren Barnet as Dr. Frost. Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut also appears as Dr. Naomi Howard.
Merrin Dungey and Manish Dayal return to Chicago Med season 11
As for the guest stars in Chicago Med season 11, episode 7, expect to see Zach Appelman as Jeremy Lockhart and Tetona Jackson as Esme Lockhart, Manish Dayal returning as Dr. Theo Rabari, Merrin Dungey also returning as Dr. Jennifer Kingston, and Abrial Bonilla as med student Lina Martinez. Like with past episodes, these guest stars will look very familiar.
Obviously, we have already seen Merrin Dungey in Chicago Med as Dr. Jennifer Kingston as she made a brief appearance earlier in season 11. While Dungey only dropped by quickly, she's expected to have a larger role in the fall finale. Dungey perhaps is best known for the television shows Alias, The King of Queens, Malcolm in the Middle, Once Upon a Time, and The Resident among others.
Manish Dayal also returns in season 11 after making his debut as Dr. Theo Rabari in episode 4. Dayal arrived as a confident doctor looking to partner with Gaffney on new technology he's developing. Charles was skeptical of Rabari at first but later warmed up to him and his work. Before Med, Dayal was a series regular in The Resident, also appearing in 90210, Switched at Birth, Halt and Catch Fire, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
Zach Appleman plays an expecting father going through cancer
In addition to the returning guest stars in the Chicago Med season 11 fall finale, the episode also introduces new characters making their debuts in the episode. According to the synopsis, Archer and Asher will being teaming up to treat a husband and wife expecting their first child. Zach Appleman plays Jeremy Lockhart, the father-to-be who has been facing cancer. Tetona Jackson plays Jeremy's wife Esme, who is pregnant with their child.
Appleman has previously appeared in the film Kill Your Darlings and was a series regular in the television series Sleepy Hollow as Zach Corbin. Additionally, Appleman has appeared in Beauty & the Beast, The Resident, God Friended Me, and he even had a recurring role in Chicago PD season 5 as Matt Miller. Meanwhile, Tetona Jackson has been seen in Poppa's House, Good Trouble, Dynasty, Home Economics, All Night, and other shows and movies.
Finally, the last guest star appearing in Chicago Med season 11 episode 7 is Abrial Bonilla as a medical student named Lina Martinez. Based on the photos, Lina will be working with Lenox, will apparently be crossing a line for a patient. Bonilla likely won't catch your eye as this marks her first appearance in a major television series and only has credits in two short films and one indie movie.
The Chicago Med season 11 fall finale airs Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 8/7c on NBC.
