There was a lot to process in Chicago Med season 11, episode 9, “Blindsided,” and that might be an understatement. The episode was one of the busiest episodes yet, with the writers juggling many unique storylines that gave each key member of the cast their own storyline. Some characters played bigger roles than others in the episode, but each character’s screen time was incredibly well-spent in pushing their stories ahead to further ongoing storylines while also introducing a few new storylines.
In all the chaos, some fans might have missed the fact that the episode sidelined Sarah Ramos with Dr. Lenox sitting out the episode. Roughly ten minutes into the episode, it was revealed via a conversation between Abrams and Ripley that Lenox was taking some time off after sustaining injuries responding to the house call to check on Faye.
“Heard you and Dr. Lenox made a house call, got into some trouble,” Abrams commented to Ripley when called in for a consult. “Something like that,” Ripley replied.
Abrams speculated that the house call idea was Lenox’s and asked how she was doing to which Ripley replied, “Okay, I think. Still healing from her injuries but she should be back at Gaffney soon.”
The conversation moved on quickly from there and was our sole update on Lenox in the episode. The good news is that it seems her recovery won’t keep her away too long.
Lenox will be back in Chicago Med season 11 episode 10
While Lenox took some time off to recover after being injured coming to Faye’s aid, fans don’t have to worry about her being sidelined for long. The synopsis for Chicago Med season 11, episode 10, “Frost on Fire,” reveals that Lenox will be back at work next week and it seems that she’ll be involved in one of the episode’s central cases!
As teased in the episode synopsis, Lenox is about to once again be thrust into a complicated medical case. While treating a surrogate patient, “unexpected complications” arise for the patient and her best friend. It’s going to be interesting to see what exactly these complications end up being and how Lenox’s treatment plan will lead to them.
Since her diagnosis, Lenox’s decision-making has certainly been impacted, leading her to take some unexpected risks. Could she end up pushing the patient to take a more aggressive form of treatment that doesn’t work out and creates these complications? It’s certainly a possibility.
Speaking of possibilities, there is also a good possibility that we might see Lenox throwing herself into a new relationship – or at least a new fling in the upcoming episode!
The promo for the episode teases that two doctors are about to give in to their passion, and the brief glimpse we see of the two characters in question certainly look like Lenox and Ripley. Might the show be about to explore a possible romance between the two, or perhaps a friends-with-benefits situation that eventually evolves into something more serious? We’d definitely be all in on a Ripley and Lenox romance, and it’ll be interesting to see if the show indeed decides to explore what that could look like.
