Will Halstead returns in first Chicago Med season 7 photos
By Cody Schultz
As Chicago Med season 6 came to a close, the future of Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) was left very much up in the air in a shocking cliffhanger that has left fans wondering whether the beloved doc had treated his last patient at Med.
To recap, as the season came to a conclusion, Will’s decision to cover for Natalie’s (Torrey DeVitto) actions in compromising the drug trial ended up costing him more than he could have ever anticipated. Once the truth came to light, Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) was left with no choice but to fire Will for his actions.

While Natalie caught up with Goodwin as the season came to an end in order to reveal the truth about the situation and clear Will’s name, our last shot of Will was of him clearing out his locker and looking ahead to what was next.
The moment was one that has left fans worried as to whether Will’s firing would stick, but if there was any doubt about whether he was leaving Med, the first photos from Chicago Med season 7 should put those doubts to rest.

With the season 7 premiere only a few short weeks away, NBC has finally revealed the first photos from the Chicago Med season 7 premiere — photos that dropped a major reveal for Will Halstead fans!
In the newly released images, Halstead is once again at the center of the action in Med’s ED appearing in a pair of new photos from the premiere which confirm he’ll not only be sticking around but will be back in action as the season begins.

While the first photo of Will in the ED is more centralized around Goodwin, who appears in good spirits, likely after being able to share some positive news with the department, the second shot seems to offer more insights on what Will will be up to in the season 7 premiere.
Although it’s uncertain how they’ll be partnering, it looks as though Will will be tag-teaming with Crocket (Dominic Rains) as the season begins in working to treat one of the season’s first patients together. Will and Crocket definitely have had a good working rapport in the past, so we’re hoping to see that continue this season and for the two to perhaps form a stronger friendship.
