It’s not every day an actor can celebrate having the No. 1 movie on Netflix and the No. 1 show on Hulu at the same time, but that’s an achievement Chicago Med star Sarah Ramos has managed to pull off in the closing weekend of June!
As of Monday, June 29, The Bear has shot to the No. 1 spot on Hulu’s Top 15 shows list, while the film Little Brother has achieved the top spot on Netflix’s Top 10 movies list! The end result is Ramos having the No. 1 Netflix movie and No. 1 Hulu series at the same time thanks to her roles in both projects, which see Ramos taking on two very different characters.
Netflix’s Little Brother won over Netflix users upon its release on June 26, giving fans a fun new comedy to enjoy from the comfort of their homes during a relatively quiet theatrical weekend. The comedy stars John Cena as famous real estate agent Rudd Landry, whose life is turned upside down when his eccentric little brother Marcus (Eric André) unexpectedly re-enters his life.
In the film, Ramos plays Hailey Boyajian, a reality TV realtor, who is the star of the fictional series NYC Hustlers, which Cena’s character has joined as the newest cast member as part of his latest career move.
Meanwhile, the final season of The Bear quickly shot to the top of the streaming charts upon its release on June 25. The final season of FX’s Emmy-winning drama saw Ramos reprising her role as Jessica, a role she first originated in the show’s second season via a guest spot that would gradually grow into a series regular role.
Ramos was back in action for the eight-episode final season, which, without giving too much away, certainly gave fans of Jess and Richie’s slow-burn relationship a worthy payoff in the end!
Both projects are certainly worth One Chicago fans’ attention and are perfect additions to their summer watch list! While we have a longer than usual summer hiatus with Chicago Med season 12 not arriving until October, the One Chicago stars have been keeping busy and giving fans new projects to enjoy during the break.
In addition to Ramos’ role in The Bear and Little Brother, the summer has seen several new releases starring current One Chicago stars and One Chicago alums, including Prime Video’s new series Every Year After starring Chicago Fire’s Michael Bradway and dramedy Let’s Love starring Dermot Mulroney. The weeks ahead will also see Tracy Spiridakos return to TV in USA Network's drama Anna Pigeon, which kicks off its first season on August 7, and fellow Chicago PD alum Sophia Bush will be starring in the Tubi original comedy Summer’s Last Resort out July 7!
