Could Parker's sister help solve the Lily mystery in NCIS Season 23?

While we will meet Agent Alden Parker's sister, Harriet, in the aftermath of their dad's murder, there's also a chance she could aid in the Lily mystery. Is this a possibility?

When NCIS Season 23 begins, Agent Alden Parker will have his hands full as he tracks down the person he holds responsible for his father’s murder. Even though this will obviously take precedence for Parker, there is another mystery that he has been trying to solve since season 22. Could the introduction of his sister, Harriet, help solve this second mystery as well?

As previously reported, when Season 23 begins, Parker’s sister, Harriet, played by Nancy Travis, will arrive.  Reminiscent of their dynamic in childhood, they will immediately butt heads with her brother as he tries to find out who murdered their father, Roman.

Roman had been killed soon after Parker was abducted by mob boss Carla Moreno, who blamed Parker for her son’s death. Unfortunately, it looks like to make Parker feel pain, she took his father’s life and left a wine glass behind with lipstick on it. Of course, we don’t know for sure it was Carla, but knowing Parker, he will stop at nothing to find her and bring justice for his father.

Even though it looks like Harriet will be there for the premiere episode to focus on this case, there’s another mystery afoot. While trapped in a ship that was being prepared to be turned into an artificial reef, Parker became injured and hallucinated a young girl named Lily.

How can Parker's sister help him solve the Lily mystery on NCIS?

Parker didn’t have a sister named Lily, but he has been trying to figure out who she is. His dad didn’t know her, but eventually the curiosity about his background led him to try looking into what happened the night his mom died. He discovered a photo of the accident, and in the photo, there was a young girl. The girl turned out to be Lily, but so far, he doesn’t know who she is or how she is connected to his mom’s death.

With Alden being clueless about a lot of the events surrounding what happened to his mom, there’s a chance Harriet could be a sounding board for him. Of course, this is dependent on whether she sticks around after the investigation into their father’s murder. However, she could also make another appearance, and this will allow her and Parker to talk about things he could learn from her side.

Plus, Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) had discovered that there was something fishy about the death certificate for Parker’s mom. While he may not bring up his findings to Parker right away, this is something that will likely get brought up at some point in the season.

However, Parker’s sister, Harriet, is involved in the show past the death of their father; there’s a chance that this could allow the siblings to build a bridge if they have not been able to see eye to eye over the years. Plus, the Lily mystery has been one that fans have been yearning to see solved since we first learned about her in the Season 21 finale.

NCIS Season 23 will premiere Tuesday, October 14 at 8/7c. You can catch up on previous episodes on Paramount+.
