The latest episode of FBI started off with a shooting that appeared to be targeted towards a trial of a mafia leader. However, when the US Marshal, Brad Kimble, who escaped the shooting unharmed, was later found shot and killed, it was determined he had been a suspect all along. How was his death connected to a friend of Scola’s who passed away just a few years earlier?
When the team looked into Brad Kimble, they learned he had been a staff member at the Cornwall Military Academy, which was where Scola attended school. Nina Chase also arrived from the Task Force unit in order to help the team look for their suspect.
At first, they thought they found one in Grant Warren. While he had swatted Kimble after having see him on the subway, he didn’t actually commit the murder. He then told Scola and Nina that he was glad Kimble was dead because he had been one of three staff members who abused him while he was in school.
Since there were two other people involved, this meant the team had to find the two men involved so they wouldn’t end up dead like Kimble. Scola went to Cornwall to speak with the Commander and head of the school, who had also been a staff member when he was a kid.
Scola revisits a dark period in his military history

Scola had gone to school with a good friend of his, David Murray. He saw a photo of their varsity team up on a plaque at the school. Eventually, we would learn from Scola that David took his own life, but they never knew why.
While the team was able to find one of the former staff members, the assailant had already gone to his house to ambush the men. Luckily, OA and Scola escaped unscathed, but they still had to find the third target.
They learned Cornwall was holding an event at the school and it would be filled with staff and alumni. Scola and OA arrived to try to shut things down, but the event went on. As the team watched on camera feeds, their shooter began targeted the commander himself.
Scola realized he was the third target, but had to keep it together to get the man to safety. He was separated from OA at this point as he made his way to the school’s kitchen all the way down to the basement. After realizing the commander was the third staff member alleged to have abused the boys, Scola reveals that he had always called David one of his favorites, a term Scola heard from Grant in interrogation.
Even though the commander did not confirm nor deny the allegations, Scola’s revelation also informed the audience that David had held the secret inside despite having a wife and little girl. Unfortunately he was unable to overcome the pain and shot himself.
Maggie was mysteriously absent from the episode

At the same time this is happening, the shooter, identified as Noah Thackery, found their location just as Scola’s radio finally worked for him to get intel from the team. He managed to get them hidden as Noah began shooting. Luckily OA arrived in time and convinced Noah to surrender.
We have been getting some good Scola episodes this season, especially since he is without a partner and is now usually paired up with OA or Maggie. The partnership with OA was fun to see, from a game of basketball to OA being there for him as he spoke about losing his friend.
Overall, this was a moving episode and while we missed Maggie, who was absent for unknown reasons, it was great to see OA and Scola working together.
Unfortunately, we won’t get to see the team together anytime soon. The next new episode of FBI is set to air on Tuesday, March 11 at 8/7c. While we wait out the hiatus, previous episodes are available for viewing on Paramount+.
