The One Chicago shows might be off for the rest of 2025, but Netflix is about to give fans a fun series to binge-watch while waiting for One Chicago Wednesdays to resume in January.
On Monday, December 1, Netflix will be adding Teen Wolf to its catalog in the US, which will give fans the first chance to stream the series on Netflix in years. While the show might not be the most obvious pick for One Chicago fans as a supernatural teen drama, it’s a series that features a trio of former stars from Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD.
The most notable character from Teen Wolf to have crossed over into the One Chicago universe is Melissa Ponzio. Across nine seasons, Ponzio played Donna Robbins-Boden, the wife of former Firehouse 51 Chief Wallace Boden. Donna was first introduced in the second season of the show and appeared in over 30 episodes Chicago Fire between seasons 2 and 12.
Although her role in the show lessened as the seasons progressed, Donna was a fan-favorite on Chicago Fire and fans will certainly love her Teen Wolf character! Ponzio played Melissa McCall across the show’s six-season run. Much like Donna, Melissa was fiercely loyal to those she loved and was an absolute powerhouse.
The series also starred Chicago Med alum Arden Cho. Funny enough, Cho made both her Teen Wolf and Chicago Med debuts in each show’s respective third season. In Teen Wolf, Cho played Kira Yukimura, a Thunder Kitsune with the power to conduct electricity, while on Chicago Med she played Dr. Ethan Choi’s younger sister, Emily.
Emily appeared in 17 episodes across the third and fourth seasons of Chicago Med. After mending her relationship with her brother, Emily moved to Las Vegas with her boyfriend to start their family after learning that she was pregnant.
The final connection between Teen Wolf and the One Chicago universe comes in the form of a key character from the very first season of Chicago PD. Day one fans will easily remember Ian Bohen’s character Edwin “Ed” Stillwell, who served as a member of the CPD Internal Affairs Division. Ed was one of Chicago PD’s first villains and was responsible for the death of Intelligence Unit member Sheldon Jin in the season 1 finale. Following Jin’s death, Voight and his unit brought Ed to justice in the season 2 premiere, leading to his arrest for the murder of Jin.
Much like his Chicago PD character, Bohen’s Teen Wolf character, Peter Hale, was also known for his villainous tendencies. Though we’d argue that Peter was definitely more lovable than Ed Stillwell.
It’s rare for a show to feature so many stars from a franchise, such as the One Chicago universe, in key roles. Teen Wolf is certainly a show worth checking out if you find yourself looking for a show to binge this December while Chicago Fire, Med, and PD are on break!
