There's no new Chicago PD tonight, Oct. 30 (Find out when NBC's hit drama returns)
By Cody Schultz
I hate to be the bearer of bad news Chicago PD fans, but if you were hoping to end your Wednesday night by enjoying a new episode of season 12 I have news you aren’t likely to appreciate.
After airing five weeks without any interruption, Chicago PD and the One Chicago shows are taking the night off with no new episodes coming our way this evening. No exact reason for this break in the schedule has been announced by NBC, but it seems likely that it’s just a standard break in the season which is common for broadcast shows as networks have to find ways to stretch 20-22 episodes out over the course of nine months.
This often requires a few breaks along the way, some long and some short. The good news is that this particular break is a short one as Chicago PD will return with a fresh episode in just one week’s time.
That’s right, Chicago PD season 12 will resume on Nov. 6 with a new episode coming fans’ way as the entire One Chicago franchise returns with new episodes.
And while there is not a new episode of Chicago PD this evening, fans can still enjoy an episode of the show as NBC is airing a rerun in place of a new episode. Tonight, fans can enjoy an encore presentation of the season 12 premiere which was quite an eventful episode for Voight, who was struggling from his near-death experience in the season 11 finale.
Chicago PD will then return next week with an episode that finds Burgess going out for her detective shield, and we’re so excited to see Burgess taking center stage after playing a bit of a background role in the first few episodes of the season – and missing the first two episodes of season 12 entirely.
This unexpected break also gives those who have fallen behind plenty of time to catch up before episode 6, and catching up is easy thanks to all episodes streaming on Peacock!
