Greg Grainger (Jon-Michael Ecker), for those who don't remember, got on the wrong side of Matt Casey. The two men do not get along, and Casey made it pretty clear that he did not want to be get any closer to Grainger than he needed to.

While Grainger eventually won over Casey's respect with quick thinking in the field, it didn't help that Grainger dated Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), the woman that Casey will eventually marry. Grainger and Brett weren't awful together, but they did feel pointless, since we all knew who Brett really had feelings for.
