Law & Order: SVU star teases emotional 'roller coaster' in season 25
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit knows how to hook viewers. It's been doing it for a quarter century, and based on the buzz surrounding the current batch of the episodes, the producers, writers, and actors have not lost their touch.
In fact, SVU is looking to ramp up its dramatic stakes in season 25, and send viewers on a "roller coaster" that will last for several episodes. The roller coaster resolves around a case that will be introduced in the March 14 episode "Probability of Doom."
SVU season 25 will be a 'rollercoaster' for fans
The synopsis for the episode reads as follows:
"When a woman turns her husband in for possessing child pornography, the case is complicated by a sudden death; Benson tries to reconnect with a victim she saved."
The subplot involving Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is the real focus in terms of what is going to inform the rest of the season 25. Octavio Pisano and Kevin Kane, who plays detectives Joe Velasco and Terry Bruno, respectively, shed light on the show's plans during a recent interview with TV Line.

Kane told the outlet that the episode, and the decisions Benson makes, play huge role in what's to come, and the storyline that comes from said decisions will stick "around a little bit." Pisano was even more bold with his phrasing, as he promised fans a "rollercoaster" ride for the next several episodes:
"It’s been going on. I think it impacts the next couple episodes as well. And it’s just going to put the characters in a bit of a rollercoaster."
S25 will explore Olivia Benson's psychology
This is music to the ears of SVU fans everywhere, and it supports a statement that Mariska Hargitay made ahead of season 25's premiere. She noted that the overriding focus of the season will be on the trauma of the past, and her character's desire to move on.
She also told TV Insider that there will be more focus on Benson's psychology than the psychology of the criminals she pursues:
"And it is a year sort of dedicated [to] and the arc is about healing because obviously my character has been exposed to so much darkness and that goes somewhere."
It's changes like these that keep the show fresh. We can't wait.
