Which Chicago Fire actor has appeared in the most episodes?
Chicago Fire has cycled through lots of firefighters and medics over the years. This would be a true statement based on season 12 alone, which has seen a revolving door of newcomers come in and attempt to fill the shoes of veteran characters. Derrick Gibson (Rome Flynn) seemed poised to be a long term replacement for Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), but he was gone after only 4 episodes.
The point is, it's difficult to stick around on a show in which characters regularly put their lives on the line. It's impossible to tell when someone will get transferred, injured, or even killed in the line of duty. This is what makes the longevity of certain characters so impressive. Chicago Fire has been on the air for over a decade, and miraculously, most of its main cast has stayed intact.
3 actors are tied for second most appearances
Unsurprisingly, the actors who play these characters have racked up staggeringly high episode counts. There are a handful of people who have crossed the 240 episode mark, but within this exclusive club, there is only one actor who holds the title for most appearances in show history.
For starters let's break down the actors who comprise the top 10.
10. Miranda Rae Mayo (166 episodes)
9. Kara Killmer (199 episodes)
8. Anthony Ferraris (205 episodes)
7. Jesse Spencer (204 episodes)
6. David Eigenberg (246 episodes)
5. Randy Flagler (247 episodes)
4. Joe Minoso (248 episodes)
3. Eamonn Walker (248 episodes)
2. Christian Stolte (248 episodes)
Taylor Kinney still holds the Chicago Fire record
We were genuinely surprised to discover that Kara Killmer logged more episodes than Miranda Rae Mayo, or that Jesse Spencer placed so low despite being a main character on the show for so long. The gap between the top six is minuscule, however, with David Eigenberg and Randy Flagler being separated by a single episode.
Then there's the three way tie for second place, which is shared by Joe Minoso, Eamonn Walker and Christian Stolte. This trio represents the veterans of Firehouse 51, so their constant presence makes perfect sense. The top spot, however, goes to Taylor Kinney. Despite missing a handful of episodes in seasons 11 and 12, the actor outranks everybody with a staggering 249 appearances.
Hopefully he sticks around to retain his title!
