Yes, Violet and Carver's romance just got serious on Chicago Fire
Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) did not really interact much during Chicago Fire season 11. The more time they spend in each other's orbit, however, the more obvious it becomes that these two have a connection.
Attempts on the part of Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) to pair them up were not appreciated by Violet, but there was a mutual attraction between her and Carver, which was consummated during the episode "Trapped." It was more or less passed off as a fling by both parties, but the Brettsey wedding flipped the script on that idea.
Violet admitted she cares about Carver
Things started off innocently enough, with Violet being reluctant to accept Carver as her wedding date, but by the time the ceremony was over, and everybody was having a good time, Violet made it clear that her feelings for the firefighter are more serious than she let on.
She told Carver that she wouldn't be able to handle something bad happened to another person she cared about, alluding to the death of her previous boyfriend, Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas). Carver is taken aback by the statement, but he hones it on the most important takeaway: Violet cares about him a lot.

The character tells Violet the good news, which is that nothing bad is going to happen to him, and then they dance together. It's a relatively minor experience in the grand scheme of the episode "Port in the Storm", but it was a pivotal one for the burgeoning Violet and Carver romance.
The pair attended Brettsey's wedding together
The two have crossed the threshold of casualness, and are now considering making things more serious between them. Just in time, too, as Brettsey's departure means there's an opening for another prominent Chicago Fire romance.
It would be silly to think a Violet and Carver romance would be smooth-sailing, given the trauma that both characters have endured in their lives, but said trauma could also help them to bond, and help one another move on from whatever lingering issues they still have.
Regardless of what happens, the admittance of feelings for someone is a big step forward for Violet, who has been confirmed by showrunner Andrea Newman to play a major role in the rest of season 12.
