Fans may debate which Chicago Med personality deserves the title of worst character, but this surprising pick might change how you see the show’s history.

Since Chicago Med premiered on November 17, 2015, the show has introduced a long list of fantastic characters. As a result, many devoted fans of NBC's hit medical drama have strong feelings about characters from the past who should return to the show in a creatively interesting way.

On the other hand, there have been several Chicago Med characters that even the show's most dedicated fans don't like. In fact, there have been some figures from the show's past who seemed to make many of the show's viewers furious. While there is a lot of discussion about certain Chicago Med characters being hated by the show's followers, I believe that another one is the worst in the series' history.

Why Liliana Wapniarski is Chicago Med's worst character ever

Throughout Chicago Med's history, the show's fans have been very vocal about hating some of the show's characters. For example, fans have often expressed how much they have hated Dr. Natalie Manning as a character. Unfortunately, Dr. Manning's recent brief return made things even worse as many viewers were outraged by her behavior, especially how she treated Dr. Hannah Asher. Even though she appeared in very few episodes, another one of Chicago Med's most hated characters has to be Gwen Garrett.

While fans have valid complaints about those two and others, I still believe that another character is the worst in the show's history, Liliana Wapniarski. I would argue that there are two main reasons why Liliana was such an awful character for the show in general. Before touching on those reasons, I feel it is important to point out that the problems with the character aren't the fault of the actor who portrayed her, Alet Taylor.

The first reason why I believe that Liliana was a terrible character for Chicago Med is simple, she was always a drag to the show who served as a consistent distraction. While the character could sometimes be seen smiling on the show, she was such a downer that it felt like her lips curling up was a foreign phenomenon for her. On top of that, the character had no impact on the show's storylines outside of her involvement with Dr. Charles. As a result of those two factors, every scene with Liliana felt like a bummer that was a complete distraction.

The other, and even bigger, problem with Liliana as a character was that she ruined one of the best parts of Chicago Med.

Widely regarded as either the best or one of the best Chicago Med characters, Dr. Daniel Charles has always been beloved by the show's viewers. As a result, fans have always wanted Dr. Charles to find happiness. Instead, the introduction of Liliana as Dr. Charles' girlfriend made everything about the beloved doctor feel like a total bummer, too.

The supposed couple never felt like they had a connection, Liliana always seemed like a burden to Dr. Charles, and he never seemed happy around her. It was miserable to watch, so I'm extremely happy Liliana is gone.

Of course, it can't be ignored that the introduction of Liliana also led to her brother, Pawel Wapniarski, becoming part of the show. To put it bluntly, Pawel absolutely sucked too.
