FBI season 8, episode 4 was notably without one key member of the cast, with actor Zeeko Zaki sidelined for the week. But fear not, OA will be back soon, and there’s a very good reason he wasn’t in the latest episode of FBI’s current season.
In the fourth episode of the season, OA and Maggie were tasked with protecting Senator Charlotte Hirsch, who was targeted for assassination as the swing vote for a major budget amendment. Unfortunately, while accompanying the Senator on her flight, Maggie and OA failed, with the Senator being assassinated in the air after the hired assassin poisoned her.
While attempting to identify the Senator’s killer before the plane landed, OA was exposed to the toxin that claimed the Senator’s life – which was transferred to her via a poisoned cane. Thankfully, OA figured out who was responsible for the assassination, and she was able to obtain an antidote from the assassin in time to save OA’s life. As the episode drew to a close, OA had been admitted to the hospital and was being monitored following his exposure to the toxin.
Although OA was revealed to make a full recovery, the storyline kept him sidelined in episode 4. This was likely done strategically by the writers, who are tasked with finding ways to write around series regulars missing a few episodes here and there throughout the season due to budget constraints.
The good news is that OA will not be sidelined for too long! While Maggie teamed up with Eva in episode 4 to hunt a killer responsible for a stabbing in a park, OA will be back to partner with her in FBI season 8, episode 6, airing on November 17.
In the episode, Maggie, OA and the team will investigate a drug trafficking crew with a surprise connection to a community clinic robbery. Photos from the episode see Maggie and OA back in the field together racing to bring the criminals to justice, meaning that OA will be back in action in no time and is not going to miss several episodes following his latest brush with death.
While we love getting to see the FBI team getting shaken up from time to time, we love Maggie and OA’s partner dynamic and are glad the show won’t be keeping the partners separated for too long!
Don't miss new episodes of FBI, Mondays at 9/8c on CBS.
