Max isn't on the Odyssey this week, but here's when Doctor Odyssey is back

The doctor is not in for any new medical emergencies this week. When will Doctor Odyssey return with new episodes?

After a week of horror and zombies, Dr. Max Backman is taking a night off. Doctor Odyssey won’t air a new episode tonight, Thursday, Oct. 31, but we know when the show will return.

It shouldn’t be that surprising to hear that there isn’t a new episode tonight. After all, the previous episode was all about Halloween. The episode was literally titled “Halloween Week,” so we didn’t expect anything on actual Halloween.

Why isn’t Doctor Odyssey new tonight?

The series is likely taking a break purely due to Halloween. ABC won’t want to risk the linear ratings as a lot of people will be out trick-or-treating, or they may be at a Halloween party. This also helps with scheduling, as there needs to be breaks here and there. ABC needs to spread out 22 episodes across nine months!

There is only a one-week break. The promo for the next episode is out, and it tells us that the new episode is on Thursday, Nov. 7. The whole of TGIT is back that week.

There is a rerun of the series tonight. In fact, there are two reruns starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The first hour will be a rerun of the second episode of the series, “Singles Week.” Then the second rerun is going to be last week’s episode, “Halloween Week.”

What to expect when Doctor Odyssey returns

The show is moving on from the “week” themes in a way. At least, the titles are moving on from that. “I Always Cry at Weddings” is the title of Doctor Odyssey season 1, episode 6, and I’m sure you can guess what it will involve. Yes, it’s a wedding.

The crew need to deal with a “bridezilla” who is ready to ruin the week-long wedding affair. On top of that, there are a few extra relationships happening, and some of them could be between the crew members.
