Jeff Hephner and David Eigenberg are among those coming aboard Chicago Fire director Joe Chappelle’s upcoming film The Pages.

Jeff Hephner and David Eigenberg are reuniting with Chicago Fire director Joe Chappelle on his upcoming political thriller The Pages, One Chicago Center can confirm.

Hephner, who just finished a recurring run as Jeff Clarke in Chicago Med season 2, has been cast as Adrian, the chief of staff to Rachel Burke (Jamie Lee Curtis). He’s loyal to his country, but also has a “complicated history” with the film’s heroine, Elizabeth Lamm (Tika Sumpter).

Details on Eigenberg’s character weren’t revealed.

But adding David Eigenberg and Jeff Hephner bolsters an already impressive cast for The Pages, which also formally brought aboard Clarke Peters (The Wire), Rex Linn (CSI: Miami), Alysia Reiner (Orange is the New Black), Alex Weisman (Chout on Chicago Fire), and the previously revealed Deanna Dunagan (The Exorcist) on Monday.

More from One Chicago Center

If you saw Jeff Hephner as Ben Zajac in Starz’s Boss, then you know that political thrillers are right up his alley. (And if you didn’t, you can watch a clip from the first season here.) He knows how to navigate the twists and turns of that world, and to play characters without ever losing their innate likeability.

Hephner is currently shooting Mars season 2 for NatGeo in Budapest, in which he’ll be one of several new cast members for the event series.

And one can only imagine what The Pages will have in store for David Eigenberg, who seems to get better with every successive season of Chicago Fire. Hopefully it will involve at least one great monologue. Then if his character ends up in the same scene with Hephner’s character, that’d be a fantastic piece of cinema.

Meanwhile, we’ll be waiting to find out if his Fire character Christopher Herrmann survives the fire he was last seen in when Chicago Fire season 6 premieres on Sept. 28.

It’s good news to see both actors getting another role, as they’re two of One Chicago’s underrated performers. It’s better news that it’s coming on a project with someone who knows their work and knows how to make a great movie.

Their casting reunites them with Chappelle, who is the most prolific director in Chicago Fire history and whose credits include last season’s milestone 100th episode. With Chappelle both directing and writing the film, One Chicago fans have more than enough reasons to put it on their must-see list.
