How did Chicago Fire season 6, Chicago PD season 5 and Chicago Med season 3 fare in the ratings this week? Find out in the One Chicago Ratings Report.

Another week in the One Chicago season has gone by, so it’s time for another edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.

This week was an interesting one in the TV ratings book, as Chicago PD found itself the only one not to be running a new episode while NBC preempted its Wednesday night slate.

Tuesday brought us the new Chicago Med episode “Lemons and Lemonade” which attracted a total of 6.87 million live viewers.

That was the first drop for Med in a little while, as it was down just over one million eyeballs from the previous week‘s 7.88 million.

More from One Chicago Center

It was sixth in total viewers amongst all of Tuesday’s broadcast TV shows (down one place, back to where it was two weeks ago) and fifth in the adults 18-49 segment (down two spots this week).

What could’ve made the difference?

In three letters: CBS. Last Tuesday, the Eye aired a repeat of the Michael Weatherly series Bull against Chicago Med; this week, it was a new episode of the spin-off NCIS: New Orleans.

With new programming back, CBS was once again the most-watched network on Tuesday, and gained more than three million viewers in the Tuesday at 10 p.m. time slot.

Since this week’s episode of Chicago PD was a rerun, we won’t compare numbers for Wednesday, but we will tell you that a second airing of “The Thing About Heroes” drew 5.05 million watchers and was NBC’s most-watched repeat.

Which brings us to Thursday night and Chicago Fire. Fire has had its ratings fluctuations over the season, but this week “Slamigan” brought in 6.03 million viewers.

It was fourth-ranked in the evening and tied for sixth in the demo with NBC’s The Good Place.

Last week it had 5.65 million live watchers, and was seventh most popular among broadcast TV shows (ninth among adults 18-49), so that’s a gain of about 380,000 eyeballs and three spots in both rankings.

That’s definitely good news, but worth keeping an eye on still, because it’s the opposite of the situation for Chicago Med. On Thursday night, CBS aired nothing but repeats, so the only new competition we had was ABC. So when CBS re-enters the fray, will that take viewers back from Fire? We’ll find out next week.

With only two-thirds of the One Chicago lineup on the air this week, One Chicago ratings aren’t as complete as usual, but each of our shows still managed to find a decent audience. Keep in mind it’s just the start with next week scheduled differently too, so ratings will change as we go on.
