Chicago Fire season 6, episode 11 preview: Law of the Jungle

Will Chicago Fire break up Casey and Severide? Wll Stellaride make up? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with our Chicago Fire season 6, episode 11 preview.

If you were disappointed with Kelly Severide’s story in last week’s Chicago Fire, this week might just make up for it as he’s at the center of both major plotlines tonight.

Tonight’s episode is called “Law of the Jungle” and there are two plots that NBC is promoting in this episode: another Casey vs. Severide debacle, and the potential of Stellaride.

All of the promos for this episode, and even the episode’s photos, are focused on the former as Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) respond to a rescue call but again, can’t agree on how to handle it.

That’s no huge spoiler; Chicago Fire fans know that happens once or twice a season.

We’ve seen it in season 6 already with their handling of the school fire at the start, and then after Casey got his promotion to Captain. Their whole dynamic is built on being different, yet understanding that those differences makes them better as a whole.

And nobody—not even Chief Grissom (guest star Gary Cole), who returns in this episode seemingly wanting Kelly to throw Matt under the bus—should come between them.

To be fair, we discussed last week how Severide could be feeling like everyone’s second place considering what’s happened with Casey and with Stella, so this wedge could be bigger than usual but we don’t expect it to drive them apart.

Now, when it comes to Stellaride, that’s another story. The sneak peek for this episode certainly wants us to think there could be movement on that front as well. Take a look:

Let’s remember that Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) is supposed to be dating Zach (recurring guest star Daniel Di Tomasso, who’s also in this episode). They’ve only been on one date that we saw, so it’s not super-serious, but you’d have to feel bad for Zach if she suddenly dumps him two episodes later to rekindle things with Severide.

If the point of Zach was to create a road block for Stellaride, it’s not much of one if it only lasts two episodes (one if you count that the first episode was largely introducing him and getting him to go out with Stella).

But everyone still thinks Stellaride is a thing, including Grissom and many Chicago Fire fans, so will this Chicago Fire season 6 installment tease us with that possibility again? Especially since this is the show that just put Brettonio back in limbo?

Aside from Dawsey, the relationship department at Firehouse 51 seems to be going in circles, and it feels like tonight might be the time when that ride finally stops. At least, that’d be best for the fans—and for Severide.
