Valentine’s Day may be over, but we’re keeping the love going in One Chicago with the other Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med pairings we love.

With Valentine’s Day behind us, we’re looking at a different kind of One Chicago pairing today: not the ships, but the pairings between characters and the things that make us love them.

There are plenty of couples in Chicago PD, Chicago Fire as well as Chicago Med, but those aren’t the only things that go well together. There are other great combinations, and this list is all about those matchups.

If you’re more into conventional romance, don’t forget to check out our Valentine’s Day list of love lessons we’ve picked up from Chicago Fire.

Here are our other favorite One Chicago pairings:

More from One Chicago Center

1) Hank Voight and interrogations

Any time Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) steps into the interview room, One Chicago fans know that it’ll be a good time. For us, not for the person he’s talking to, that is.

2) Otis and crazy ideas

Otis (Yuri Sardarov) has just found love on Chicago Fire with Lily (Ariane Rinehart), but we love him and his constant propensity to come up with ideas that are beyond his wildest dreams.

Whether it’s getting a Japanese firefighting robot, expanding Molly’s with Molly’s North, or thinking he might go to space, Otis hasn’t found an idea that he doesn’t like. And while many of them don’t end well, that’s really awesome. He’s someone who never stops dreaming and never stops believing, whereas most of us tend to think about all the things standing in our way.

Besides, Otis’s crazy ideas mean great subplots for Fire since we never know what he’s going to buy, build or do next.

3) Alvin Olinsky and chill

Is there anyone less bothered by everything than Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas)? Olinsky is so chill all of the time, whether it’s the old running gag about Voight never noticing Olinsky was already there to the fact he always seems like he just rolled out of bed.

That doesn’t mean he’s any less dedicated to his job, but Olinsky doesn’t seem to get ruffled by a lot. Mostly it feels like criminals are just daily annoyances to him more than anything else. With all the tough stuff that Intelligence goes through, it says something that he’s so experienced (and we could also say jaded) that he makes it all look easy.

4) Connor Rhodes and facial expressions

Here at One Chicago Center, we’ve been actively campaigning for a Colin Donnell reaction camera, because Chicago Med‘s Connor Rhodes has the best expressions we’ve ever seen for a character on TV, ever.

We can chalk this up to Colin Donnell’s superb acting talent, because it’s something that he has always been able to do, whether it’s on this show or Arrow or anything else we’ve seen him in. He knows how to react as well as he can act.

And it seems like Med has realized this, because they’ve given Connor some hilarious stuff to react to: unexpected pandas, bad pirate jokes, and many times that his coworkers or other cohorts at the hospital have left him momentarily bewildered.

5) Mouch and the firehouse TV

Mouch (Christian Stolte) loves Trudy Platt (Amy Morton), but he also has a special kind of thing going on with the TV at Firehouse 51. After all, he got the nickname “Mouch” from being jokingly called half-man and half-couch!

It’s hard to imagine Mouch not being in front of the TV, not just for the fans but for his friends at the firehouse. Heck, they even got him a personalized throw pillow in the Chicago Fire season 6 premiere! And in a way, he’s kind of like us: he just wants to sit back, relax and watch his favorite TV show. Maybe there’s a little bit of Mouch in all of us.
