How did Chicago Med season 3, Chicago PD season 5, and Chicago Fire season 6 fare in the ratings this week? Find out in the One Chicago Ratings Report.

Another week in the One Chicago season has gone by, so it’s time for another edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had to put one of these together, thanks to the Winter Olympics on NBC, so would the franchise’s ratings be any different after the break than before?

Let’s start with Chicago Med. On Tuesday, the episode “Down By Law” pulled in 7.27 million live viewers.

That’s down just slightly from the 7.38 million people who tuned into the last new episode all the way back in the week of Feb. 6.

Chicago Med is still holding on to its positions in the Tuesday night broadcast TV rankings. For the third episode in a row, it was ranked sixth in total viewers and came in third with adults 18-49.

The real test for the series will come shortly, as This Is Us will end its season in two weeks and its place as Med‘s lead-in will be taken by a new series. So keep your eyes open here, because we’ve seen how lead-ins can affect a show’s ratings.

The good news is, while Med is still being beaten by CBS‘s NCIS: New Orleans in the 10 p.m. hour, the gap between them is still relatively small—just 0.88 this week, compared to 0.83 a few weeks ago.

Moving on to Wednesday night, fans saw Chicago PD maintain its position as the most-watched broadcast show at 10 p.m. despite originals from CBS and ABC.

The episode “Sisterhood” dropped a significant amount of total viewers: it had 6.07 million live eyeballs, compared to the 7.22 for the previous episode “Anthem.”

But PD still was more watched than SEAL Team or Designated Survivor, and was the third most viewed program in the entire night behind two back-to-back episodes of Survivor. So while losing more than a million people is not great, it didn’t appear to hurt the show’s overall position.

That brings us to the return of Chicago Fire on Thursday. “The F Is For” brought in a total of 5.65 million audience members, and there’s good news and bad news in that.

The good news is that’s a slight improvement over the previous episode, and back to the exact same amount of viewers that the show had two episodes ago.

And for the first time in a while, not only did Chicago Fire beat CBS’s SWAT in total viewers during the 10 p.m. time slot. Plus, it also held off ABC’s big crossover episode of How To Get Away With Murder.

That’s a lot to be proud of, even though there’s still a lot of room for Fire to get back to its bigger audience. Especially when the show’s lead-in was a brand-new series that’s also a sitcom (A.P. Bio, which only pulled in 2.8 million), Chicago Fire did a pretty good job with what it was given.

Now that the Winter Olympics are over, could we see One Chicago’s ratings start to rise again? Let’s hope so, because we’ve got about three months of the season left, which is still time to get some big numbers in and finish strong.
