How did Chicago Med season 3 and Chicago Fire season 6 fare in the ratings this week? Find out in the One Chicago Ratings Report.

Another week in the One Chicago season has gone by, so it’s time for another edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.

Once again only two One Chicago shows have fresh numbers this week; while Chicago PD was on the air, it was a rerun. So did the other two series carry the weight?

Tuesday’s Chicago Med episode “Lock It Down” recorded 6.15 million live viewers. That’s a gain from last week‘s 5.81 million; about 340,000 more people week to week.

However, it’s still off the season’s pace a little bit; remember that two weeks ago, there was an episode with 6.86 million eyeballs! So Med made up for last week’s shortfall, but it’s still not as strong as it has been in season 3.

More from One Chicago Center

The show was ranked seventh in total viewers among broadcast TV shows on Tuesday, and eighth in the adults 18-49 group.

That’s up two spots in the former category and no change in the latter.

Keeping an eye on the surrounding shows, Med‘s lead-in Rise showed a slight lift but is still soft (4.54 million from 4.48 million).

And CBS continues to be strong with its originals; a new NCIS: New Orleans, which was the last episode for main cast member Shalita Grant, had over 8 million viewers directly opposite our favorite medical drama.

Chicago PD‘s repeat, for posterity, pulled in 4.22 million viewers on Wednesday. That’s only about a million less than a new episode of The Blacklist on NBC at 8 p.m. (which had 5.36 million).

Thursday’s Chicago Fire episode “Put White On Me” had an audience of 5.41 million eyeballs. It’s a small rise for the senior One Chicago show from last week; there were about 140,000 more eyes than there were last week.

Fire was sixth in total viewers and fifth among adults 18-49. That’s up two spots in both respects, while it beat out CBS’s SWAT by a thin margin (5.41 vs. 5.12 million) and crushed ABC‘s Scandal in head-to-head competition.

It also had more total viewers this week than Station 19, which dropped to 5.12 million viewers in its third outing. If you’re a Chicago Fire fan, you’ve got several reasons to be thrilled this week even as we’d still like to see that total viewership number get up into the 6 million range.

Next: What did we learn from last night's Chicago Fire?

The One Chicago programs both experienced ratings lifts this week, though maybe not as high as we would’ve liked. Still, any gain is a good gain, and we’ll see if they continue to trend upward next week when all three shows are back on the schedule.
