Lucifer is getting a visit from Chicago Med as Brian Tee and Louis Herthum will join former Chicago Fire star Lauren German on the FOX show tonight.

Lucifer already has a Chicago Fire connection, but now it’s about to get two more ties to Chicago Med.

Chicago Med star Brian Tee (who plays Dr. Ethan Choi) and guest star Louis Herthum (who played Dr. Will Halstead’s father Pat in the Chicago Med season 2 episode “Generation Gap”) both appear on Lucifer tonight.

The FOX series is airing two back-to-back episodes that were produced for Lucifer season 3, but didn’t air during the season.

Since FOX canceled the show earlier this month the network is now burning off those episodes, “Boo Normal” and “Once Upon A Time,” tonight starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

More from One Chicago Center

FOX hasn’t officially declared which of the two episodes Louis Herthum and Brian Tee appear in, but we do know that Brian plays a character named Ben Rogers, while Louis guest stars as LAPD Lieutenant John Decker.

John is the father of Detective Chloe Decker, the main character portrayed by Chicago Fire alum Lauren German. That means we should get at least one scene with a direct Chicago Med and Chicago Fire connection!

The first Lucifer episode airing tonight, “Boo Normal,” deals with the murder of a child psychiatrist that brings up a childhood secret for LAPD forensics tech Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia, Dexter).

Then in the second installment, “Once Upon A Time,” Lucifer (Tom Ellis) sees an alternate history where he never met Chloe. Author Neil Gaiman portrays God as he narrates the episode.

Here’s a preview clip that FOX has released in advance of the episodes; neither Brian Tee nor Louis Herthum are in it, but it’ll give you a taste of what’s coming up:

If you haven’t already been watching Lucifer for Lauren German, consider tuning in tonight to catch the Chicago Med actors in action. Lucifer has a great main cast on its own, but getting to see Brian Tee in a different role will be a treat. Hopefully it goes better than his Chicago PD guest spot.

Plus Louis Herthum will be playing a different father (as he’s already doing on Westworld). We’ll see if John and Chloe Decker have a better relationship than Pat and Will Halstead, though at least Will made up with his father by the end of that episode.

It’s always fun to see One Chicago stars pop up on other shows, but Lucifer should give these two actors some particularly entertaining material in what could be the show’s swan song.

And with Chicago Med on hiatus, it also gives our fandom something to watch this week! Don’t miss the Lucifer season 3 bonus episodes featuring three One Chicago alums.
