Now that Lucifer has been saved by Netflix, we have some more One Chicago actors we’d like to see join Chicago Fire’s Lauren German in Lucifer season 4.

TV fans rejoiced on Friday when Lucifer was picked up for a fourth season by Netflix, keeping former Chicago Fire star Lauren German‘s current show on the air for at least one more season.

Aside from starring the actress formerly known as Leslie Shay, Lucifer also featured two actors from Chicago Med in its last episode. Brian Tee and Louis Herthum guest starred in “Once Upon A Time,” which was the show’s final installment on FOX.

Both of them were great in their appearances, with Tee playing the killer of the week and Herthum portraying the father of Lauren German’s character Chloe Decker.

So now that there will be a Lucifer season 4 after all, why not recruit a few other One Chicago stars to keep the fun for our favorite fandom going?

More from One Chicago Center

There are several One Chicago performers who’d fit in well on Lucifer. At the top of the list has to be the newly available Monica Raymund.

She and German spent the first two seasons playing partners on Ambulance 61, and were so good together that people still look back on that pairing fondly.

And now that Raymund isn’t returning to Chicago Fire as Gabriela Dawson, she should presumably be available to drop in on her former colleague’s show for an episode or two.

What if she played another murderer? It would be a lot of fun to watch Lauren German arrest Monica Raymund, and to see Raymund do something that’d definitely be completely opposite from Dawson.

Especially since the now-Netflix show’s more light-hearted tone would let Raymund flex the comedic muscles that she didn’t always get to use on Fire (but that she was brilliant with when she did).

There’s already been plenty of Chicago Med representation, but a surprising yet fun choice for a future episode would be Oliver Platt. He did once voice Hades, Lord of the Underworld, so that’d be a natural segue and again, it’d be playing against his current role.

But even if he stuck to what he’s been doing, he’d still bring something interesting to the table. The characters of Lucifer need plenty of therapy, so having another therapist or academic to help out Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) would be welcome. Plus, just imagine how great scenes between Oliver Platt and Rachael Harris would be anyway. That’s an intriguing combination we haven’t seen before.

We wouldn’t want to ignore Chicago PD either, and out of that cast the actor who stands out has to be Patrick John Flueger. He’s no stranger to superhuman characters, having played a man with superpowers in The 4400.

And the dry, cynical attitude he’s perfected playing the hard-edged Adam Ruzek would mix things up in Lucifer season 4. Imagine him working alongside Lauren German and Kevin Alejandro at the show’s police precinct? He’d either make them crazy or make an entertaining third wheel, or both.

It was exceptionally fun seeing Louis Herthum and Brian Tee on Lucifer, so we’re in favor of having more actors from our Chicago shows come by when Lucifer heads to Netflix. It could be a devilish good time, for Lauren German and for fans.
