Chicago Justice reunion in this week’s Law and Order SVU
There’s a Chicago Justice reunion happening on Law and Order SVU, as Carl Weathers reprises his Justice role in tomorrow’s SVU season 20 episode.
One Chicago’s crossover event is getting all the attention this week, but Chicago Justice fans should stay tuned for tomorrow’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
As reported earlier this month, SVU will feature a reunion between two of the stars of Chicago Justice in this Thursday’s episode.
Carl Weathers will reprise his role as State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies in the installment, which brings Jefferies face to face with his former subordinate, now-Assistant District Attorney Peter Stone (Philip Winchester).
What brings the State’s Attorney of Cook County from Chicago to New York? Well, that audiences will have to watch and find out, but it’s a big way for SVU to settle into its regular time slot.

Since Chicago Justice was cancelled last year, there’s only been one other time where two of the main cast have been in the same show—and it wasn’t on the same scale as this.
Stone’s former second chair Anna Valdez (Monica Barbaro) appeared in two episodes of Chicago PD, which brought back Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), but the two didn’t have sizeable screen time together.
Not only will Jefferies and Stone both be in the next SVU, but all signs point to them being in the same storyline together.

NBC’s official storyline for “Zero Tolerance” involves some kind of legal battle, because Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) has to ask Peter for help with her case of the week. So if there’s a legal issue, it would be natural for the top lawyer in Chicago to also be involved. The question is what the link is between the two cities. Is it so simple as the victim being from Chicago, or is it something else?
And will the no-nonsense Jefferies have something to say about Peter Stone’s current state, since the SVU season 20 premiere turned his character into someone that Chicago Justice fans wouldn’t recognize? Tune in tomorrow and find out, but Carl Weathers’ return is definite good news for One Chicago viewers.
