What should fans expect from this week’s Chicago Fire? Find out what to watch for in our Chicago Fire season 7, episode 3 preview.

The next Chicago Fire keeps the focus on Kelly Severide, but could it be about to make things even more complicated for him?

After Severide (Taylor Kinney) came to grips with almost losing his girlfriend last week, this week’s episode gives him a professional challenge, by putting him at the center of the primary call.

And while Severide’s excellent at rescuing people—as was demonstrated thoroughly during last week’s crossover—this episode puts a wrench into the situation that might make it even worse.

Namely, did a father intentionally try to kill his family by driving his car off a bridge?

That’s the accusation made in the promo for this episode (which you can watch below). That’s a very serious claim to make, but particularly if you’re Kelly Severide, that might strike a nerve.

Chicago Fire fans know Severide doesn’t have a great relationship with his own father Benny. The two have fought on more than one occasion. So how would he react to a father who goes so far as to try and kill his child?

He might have another blow-up for the second week in a row!

Elsewhere, “Thirty Percent Sleight of Hand” is going to continue introducing One Chicago fans to the new paramedic Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh).

The first two episodes of Chicago Fire season 7 have dropped some very obvious hints about her past, but hasn’t paid anything off yet. But the subplot of this episode involves Foster still trying to fit in with Firehouse 51, so in doing so, will she reveal more about herself?

Her explanation about getting kicked out of medical school didn’t feel like that was the full story, but Foster might be able to help out Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) as he thinks about the woman that he rescued from last week’s fire—that’s Kristen Gutoskie, the new recurring cast member! So there might be love in the air, even if there’s an unhappy family.
