What should Dick Wolf fans watch for in this week’s Law and Order: SVU? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with our SVU season 20, episode 5 preview.

The latest episode of Law and Order: SVU might sound familiar to Dick Wolf fans, because it has ties to not one but both of his TV franchises.

“Accredo” centers on Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) as she investigates a man who says he’s running a female empowerment organization, but may actually be up to something worse.

Meanwhile, Rollins must also deal with the ongoing concern of being pregnant on the job, as she tries to keep her personal life, personal.

The episode seems to be following the Law and Order franchise’s “ripped from the headlines” plan, sounding very inspired by the case of Keith Raniere and the NXIVM organization.

That investigation is still very much ongoing, though, so it’s not like viewers can predict exactly where this episode is going to go—the writers can take the general concept of empowerment turned evil and essentially run with it.

Especially with the #MeToo movement also very much alive, “Accredo” might be another episode that has fans talking for a variety of reasons. Just like “Zero Tolerance” earlier this season, it’s going to bring up some hot-button topics.

So will it have a clear message to impart, like that episode did? Or will it focus more on Rollins, Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and company taking a criminal down?

Something else in this SVU season 20 installment worth watching is another One Chicago actor. One of the guest stars here is America Olivo, who will be recognizable to Chicago PD fans for her recurring role as Laura Dawson, the ex-wife of Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda).

While we don’t know what part she’ll be playing in tonight’s installment, it will be interesting to see her on a different Dick Wolf series—especially since Laura hasn’t been seen in One Chicago for awhile now. It’s been some time since fans have seen Olivo, and this will almost certainly be a new kind of part for her.

Watch a sneak peek from “Accredo” below and then tune into the full episode tonight at 10 p.m. on NBC:
