Chicago PD season 6, episode 6 preview: True or False
What should fans watch for in this week’s Chicago PD? Get ready for tonight’s episode with our Chicago PD season 6, episode 6 preview.
There’s a politically charged murder case in the next Chicago PD, so it’s time for One Chicago fans to see how the show’s new world is really going to play out.
Wednesday’s episode “True or False” has an immediate political angle, when the victim is the wife of a city alderman. That naturally means the alderman wants answers, and the police department bosses will bend over backwards to give him answers.
And people will be concerned with how it all looks, most of all Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan (recurring guest star Anne Heche), who has her previously stated agenda about closing cases to make her boss look good.
This could all be an incredible mess for Chicago PD, depending on how far the show wants to run with it.

Politics and crime intersect a lot on this show. Just last season, a congressman who was friends with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) was a suspect during one episode.
And one of the recurring characters was Ray Price (Wendell Pierce), a scheming alderman who found himself in a frenemy relationship with Voight.
This isn’t a new plot. In fact, it’s a pretty well-worn one. What’s new is the Brennan character, and how or if she’ll change how Chicago PD tells these stories.

Brennan stated in the season premiere that she wants Voight to close, or not close, certain cases for the greater good of the Superintendent (and herself, by extension).
But “True or False” is the first time we’ll see that mandate in action, and viewers will need to see a serious difference or motivation here. Otherwise, Brennan’s mission looks like it isn’t significant, and then she loses her impact with the audience. Just like the show wanted to talk about policing issues last season, if it wants to talk politics this season, it really needs to show it.
Plus, this episode puts Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) front and center, so perhaps she’ll finally get some character development this season other than who she’s sleeping with. That’s important for the season as a whole, which needs to get a few characters off the bench.
Mostly, though, “True or False” is a test of Chicago PD season 6’s overall premise. If it wants to mix in the political angle, this is the episode to show One Chicago viewers it means business. At least, that’s the impression Brennan wants to give in this sneak peek clip from the episode:
