Brian Geraghty’s The Alienist gets Golden Globe nominations
Chicago PD alum Brian Geraghty could snag a Golden Globe next month, as The Alienist received two Golden Globe nominations this week.
While One Chicago didn’t get any Golden Globe nominations, one of the franchise’s former stars got some recognition when The Alienist was nominated for two awards.
Brian Geraghty, who portrayed Officer Sean Roman on Chicago PD, could be celebrating soon as his current series was nominated for Best Television Limited Series or Best Motion Picture Made For Television.
Geraghty didn’t get any individual recognition for his performance as Teddy Roosevelt, but he’d still be included if the show wins that award next month.
His co-star Daniel Bruhl also earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

“We could not be more proud of all that The Alienist’s incredibly talented cast and crew have accomplished,” TNT executive vice president Sarah Aubrey said Thursday.
“These two Golden Globe Award nominations are a tribute to the heart and soul put into this one-of-a-kind international production.
“Daniel Brühl’s outstanding portrayal of Dr. Laszlo Kreizler amazed us from the beginning and we are ecstatic he is being recognized today.”

For Brian Geraghty fans, this is more good news. While it was disappointing to see him leave Chicago PD, he went on to a series that has been one of the most critically acclaimed on TV—The Alienist also received multiple Emmy Award nominations earlier this year.
And what was originally billed as a miniseries turned out to be so popular that TNT ordered a next cycle, called The Angel of Darkness, that will air on the network in 2019.
The only question is whether or not Brian Geraghty will be part of it. TNT did not confirm or deny his participation in the sequel when contacted by One Chicago Center after The Angel of Darkness was announced, and the actor has also been cast in another pilot.
Even if he doesn’t return, he can be proud of what he and his colleagues have done. The Alienist has been an unqualified success, and at least One Chicago will be represented somehow at the Golden Globes.
